Barry Bernard

About This Project

Barry Bernard is a Mi’kmaw, originally from the Wekoqmaq First Nation. He currently resides in Eskasoni with his wife, Eleanor and family. Barry is a graduate of Cape Breton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies. He is also a Professional photographer, Commissioner of Professional Combat Sports for Nova Scotia. He is a Coach for the Allison Bernard Memorial High School Hockey team with his older son. He and his sons are currently involved with NBC in a pilot project filming Tuna fishing with his three sons. At the present time Barry is employed with the Mi’kmaq Legal Support Network, where he is the Communications Officer and part time Court Worker.
